5 Dog Products We LOVE And Why!

Kong Wobbler

Yesterday I shared 6 dog products that we really don’t care for in our household and why.

Today I want to share with you 5 dog products that we love!

Kong Wobbler

The Kong Wobbler

Now that Jet is older and has quite severe arthritis as well as a previously repaired CCL tear and hip dysplasia, he doesn’t get around well. This means that he gets incredibly bored without something interactive to keep him busy.

We have tried a number of interactive toys including the Buster Cube and the Atomic Treat Ball. These two, in particular, were HUGE failures due to their noise as well as their difficulty in being turned over. The noise frightened Jet and the difficulty soon irked him enough to just walk away.

What we like about the Kong Wobbler is that it offers the same motivation – find a way to get the treats out – but it also is somewhat less frustrating because it pops back up once knocked over.

Think of the Boppy the clown toy made from hard plastic and you’ve got the Kong Wobbler.

The bounce back action is enough to keep Jet entertained as he bats it around to free his treats from inside.

The easy to clean plastic and the less noisy play make this one of my favorites too.

Trixie Game Bone

The Trixie Game Bone

The Trixie Game Bone is a toy that we have and don’t play with nearly enough.

I was concerned at first that this would be a tricky toy for Jet to get a hang of – how would he know how to move the pegs to get to the treats underneath?

My concerns were unfounded, though, a few stinky treats underneath the pegs and sliders and Jet wasted no time in sliding and nudging the pieces out of the way to find the treats!

This puzzle keeps Jet busy for around 3 minutes each time, only because he has a hang of it now and if we had others to switch out with it, I am sure it would take a little longer. Still, the 3 minutes he spends playing with this puzzle is a fun 3 minutes.

Babble Ball

The Babble Ball

The Babble Ball is actually not a toy that we play with in our home because Jet destroys plastic toys unless supervised constantly.

This IS a toy, however, that we gifted to my mom’s dog a couple of years ago and it was received with such enthusiasm that I try to grab one every year as a replacement.

We bought this one on sale from Doggy Loot (clicking this link and joining will refer you under my account so we will get Doggy Loot Dollars) and got two balls for $11.

Now my mom’s dog is a terrier mix and he goes absolutely crazy for balls as well as anything that makes a noise so this was the perfect choice for him. The sound has lasted for at least two years in each ball.

I will say that the balls are hard plastic so try to get the largest size for your dog so they don’t put the whole thing in their mouth. The ones we got for Finn are too large for him to pick up so he noses them around the floor while they squeal at him.

The only problem with these is that they can get slightly annoying!

Wag More Bark Less

Wag More Bark Less Grain Free Itty Bitty Treats

Wag More Bark Less Grain Free Itty Bitty Treats are one of our favorite treats because they are grain free, tasty flavors that Jet will eat, and they are TINY!

Jet gets two treats at bedtime and two when he poops outside (we began this as incentive when he began having more accidents inside as an older dog.) With four treats a day it is important that we keep things low calorie and with these tiny treats, we get low cal with the feeling of being rewarded. (We used to use baby carrots but they weren’t as incentivizing.)

We also like these treats because they’re crunchy so when kept in our treat jar they keep for a while where the chewy treats tend to go stale even in an airtight jar.

Kong Traffic Leash

Kong Traffic Leash

The Kong Traffic Leash is our favorite leash and one we have used for as long as I can remember.

This leash comes with a padded handle as well as a second padded handle further down the leash for easier control in traffic. I like this second handle because it makes me feel more secure when we are crossing the street during walks.

Now, this is quite an expensive leash, but it’s well worth the cost since it lasts a LONG time. We are still using our first one!
